City Installs New Crosswalk Safety Feature

Farmington, MI. (January 26, 2017). Several citizens experienced vehicles refusing to stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk located on Farmington Rd. at State St. As a result they felt unsafe and brought their concerns to the attention of the City. The City views public safety as an area of great concern. As such these citizen comments were taken seriously and action was taken to address them by installing an improved crosswalk indicator called a rapid flashing beacon. Read More

DDA Readies for Master Plan Update

Farmington, MI. (March 15, 2016).  The Farmington DDA has commenced the process to update the city’s Downtown Master Plan.  It recently retained planning consultants from Livonia-based OHM Advisors to shepherd the work.  The Michigan Planning Act requires a review every five years following the adoption of a Master Plan.  The DDA last completed a comprehensive revisioning of the Downtown Master Plan in 2004.  It was adopted in 2005 and incorporated into the City’s Master Plan in 2009. Farmington, MI. (August 22, 2012). The Farmington Downtown Development Authority has finalized a transaction to purchase the property located at 33200 Grand River Avenue. Most recently, the property housed Dimitri’s Restaurant. When long-time operator Basile (Bill) Anastasiou decided to retire, he placed the property on the market for sale.
