Representatives spent numerous hours disposing of unusable furnishings and kitchen tools, and cleaning the kitchen, serving and stock areas of excess waste and grease. Additionally, the kitchen gear was moved to an off-site location for cleaning and sanitizing. Ionizing air filters ran for several days to reduce building odors. All combined, the value of the clean-up work exceeded $3,200.00.
“We are grateful to Laurie, Lynne and the SERVPRO team for their generous contribution of in-kind services to our downtown,” said Annette Knowles, Executive Director of the Farmington Downtown Development Authority. “The work that was accomplished was unpleasant and laborious, so we’re especially happy with the results. The property is in much better condition than it was when we took possession of the keys.”
“It is our pleasure to give back to the community in any way we can. If everyone pitched in to clean up their community or to share the talents they have, the world would be a better place. We were a perfect fit for this project, as it is what we do every day,” said Lynn Kososki of SERVPRO.
The DDA recently closed on the purchase of the property with the goals of increasing the number of public parking spaces and facilitating redevelopment of the site.
