People looking to enjoy a mimosa while perusing the Farmington Farmers Market will be able to do so soon.
Farmington City Council unanimously approved an amendment to its social district ordinance Monday, that will extend the district’s hours to 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday. The main motivation for the switch is allowing people to enjoy a drink while visiting the Farmington Farmers Market.
“It’s the added benefit of strolling through the farmers market with your beverage of choice in hand,” Kate Knight, the director of Farmington’s downtown development authority, said.
Knight added that, as things stand currently, only one or two downtown businesses have expressed interest in selling alcohol in the morning.
