(January 24, 2017, Farmington, MI). The Board of Directors of the Farmington Downtown Development Authority remains at a full complement with the recent reappointment of three members to four-year terms expiring February 28, 2021. Reappointments occurred at the Tuesday, January 17, 2017 special meeting of the Farmington City Council.
Sean Murphy, current Vice-President and resident of the Farmington historic district, was first appointed in March, 2013. He is an attorney at the Law Offices of Jason A. Waechter in Southfield and has led the Farmington Second Fridays effort for the past two seasons.
“As a resident, I'm honored to continue to serve on the DDA Board of Directors and contribute to initiatives that further the growth and vibrancy of our great downtown. I'm particularly looking forward to assisting with redevelopment and streetscaping projects that will enhance the walkability and accessibility of our downtown businesses,” stated Murphy.
Todd Craft is the board’s most recent appointee, serving since May, 2016 when he filled a space left vacant when former member Les Key resigned. He is a resident and co-owns downtown-based real estate company City Life Realty with his wife, Cathi Waun. Craft recently was named new home sales manager of the year by the Home Builders Association of Southeast Michigan.
“I am excited to be able to continue serving the community on the DDA and to help move Farmington forward,” remarked Craft.
Agnes Skrzycki is the final member to get a four-year nod. Known as Micki, she serves as Secretary and is an integral member of the Harvest Moon Celebration planning team. Micki resides in Farmington, just outside the downtown district.
“Serving on the DDA has been a learning experience for me. I am excited to see what will unfold in the future,” added Skrzycki.
All three board members “bring a variety of experiences and interests to the board,” said Annette Knowles, Assistant to the City Manager/DDA Executive Director. “They are dedicated and earnest in their commitment to serving. We’re poised for great things as we head into the next phase of development with Sean, Todd and Micki on the board.”
