FARMINGTON, Mich., May 9, 2016. Mark your calendars so you don’t miss the 7th year of Art on the Grand in the middle of Downtown Farmington. Farmington is the historic downtown area, surrounded by the City of Farmington Hills, making this a unique urban fair with a small town charm. Art on the Grand is presented by Bath Planet, with support from The Farmington Press and Waste Management.
Over 100 artists and craftsmen from across the country will display their works in this juried fine arts fair presented by the Farmington Hills Special Services Department's Cultural Arts Division in partnership with the Farmington Downtown Development Authority. Various media will be represented, including paintings, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, glass, photography, and more.
Event hours are Saturday, June 4, 10am - 7pm and Sunday, June 5, 11am - 5pm.
In addition to artist booths lining Grand River Avenue, Art on the Grand offers a Hands-On-Art section for Kids, sponsored by Tom Holzer Ford and Renewal by Andersen. The Hands-On-Art area offers art-related activities and make-and-take projects.
Arrive early and visit the Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market Saturday 9 am - 2 pm in Riley Park. This market will feature growers and prepared foods only.
Take a break or stay late and visit one of the local restaurants; we have a wide variety to suit almost every taste! Many restaurants offer patio dining, allowing you to experience the excitement of the event while enjoying some time to relax and unwind. Be sure to visit some local shopping destinations, too. Sidewalk shopping will happen during official event hours.
